Next, some notes on last week's new recipes.
- Spicy Oven-Fried Chicken--Is indeed spicy, and made relatively little mess. I think I would make this again, though the chicken ended up being fattier than I am used to.
- Fingerling Potato Salad with Leeks and Fennel--This one was only so-so; I have better potato salads.
- Roasted Tomato Soup--A standout, though I think mine would have benefited from being less rushed. D* has asked that we have it again, if I can fit it in while we are still getting tomatoes.
- Pan-Roasted Pork Chops with Cranberries and Swiss Chard--An excellent recipe overshadowed to some extent by a difficult evening, one which has prompted me to consider a stronger set of ground rules for dinnertimes.
